A new museum is scheduled to open in Spring 2016 in Tokyo: ARCHI-DEPOT will be the first museum in Japan specialised in architectural models, with the aim to both exhibit and preserve the later. The facility will be located at the Warehouse Terrada, on Tennozu Isle (Shinagawa), and count a total of 116 shelves distributed on a surface of about 450 m².

The “Archi Depot Foundation” preconfigured its upcoming museum in form of a exhibition held at the Triennale di Milano during Expo 2015. A 10-day event, curated by Setsu and Shinobu Ito, which displayed architectural models created by 40 contemporary Japanese architects, including Kengo Kuma, Shigeru Ban, Arata Isozaki or Riken Yamamoto.
